Scaredy and Bernadette

First-ever Scaredy Squirrel fanart!



For anyone who watches CN Real, and besides the usual Regular Show and Adventure Time, they would probably recall this Canadian-animated series...and I'm positive a few don't like it. I will be honest, after watching a few episodes, I thought it slightly ranged from okay to an inability to show any real moral value (the citizens of Balsa City are REALLY naive and ignorant). But after getting back on the saddle recently and watched more episodes, I looked beyond its negative output and realized:


It's one of those cartoon shows you just CAN'T live without.


After Season 2, the show has slightly progressed and more character development, even for the considered antagonists. Not to mention we got the main character who is a fear-stricken germaphobic(his name's Scaredy Squirrel for a reason).



I will reveal that I have been thinking over a year about what my OC for the series would be like, and obviously, she would be a Squirrel, it's the name and background that needed compiling and after fanart for other shows likes Littlest Pet Shop and Robot and Monster, I finally found the chance to make what is my newest OC in a LONG time: Bernadette.

No, I did not name her after the character from 'The Big Bang Theory'. Her name is Portuguese for 'strong, manly, brave'...everything Scaredy really isn't.

I plan a story sometime for how Scaredy and Bernadette meet, and how she changes a few lives, especially his own.


Story summary:

After Scaredy wins an all-expense paid trip to Brazil, he takes time off from his job at the Stash N' Hoard and leaves Balsa City. However, after a mishap on the plane, Scaredy accidentally falls out and crashes somewhere in the Atlantic Ocean.

Waking up, he finds himself staring into the eyes of his rescuer, a female squirrel. He then realizes she had saved him and brought him back to an uknown Brazilian island where he encounters her tribe. During the time he spends with the tribal citizens before deciding to leave, Scaredy learns a few things about Bernadette that changes his life forever.


Will there be romance in the story? Mother of acorns yeah!
