HAPPY ONE-YEAR ANNIVERSARY, MONSTERS UNIVERSITY! 
On Friday, June 21, 2013, around 7 PM, that was when I watched the premiere of Monsters University. One of the BEST nights of my life, and it was WAY better than my boring high school graduation night!
This morning I've been trying to figure out what I could draw that would celebrate my love for the one movie that had changed my life. One that also holds tribute for my post MU story "Life's a Scream!" At first, I thought about just drawing Mike giving a thumbs up, but that looked boring in my head. Then I thought maybe I could draw Terry and Terri giving Mike a really tight hug which was a scene from chapter 6 cartuneslover16.deviantart.com… which really didn't seem enough for this special day. Then I almost considered drawing the MU initials in large format with Mike sitting on top of it, and Johnny being crushed on the bottom.
However, I wanted to do something that contributed to the lesson of MU, as well as shows what my post MU story is all about, which takes place after the movie. And that's when I thought of how Dean Hardscrabble changed by the end of the film, and that smile on her face. I wanted to draw her and Mike together in some way, showing that they are on good terms with each other and that their view on life is much nicer.
For all the bronies and fans of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, do you remember the fanart featuring two sides to the Mane 6 as well as everypony and even Discord? Here's one featuring Twilight Sparkle tehjadeh.deviantart.com/art/ML…
That gave me an idea for what I could do, and I spent a few hours on this. After I was done with it, I just found out that a base for this actually existed, but I did this all manually, relying on a little thumbnail which I blew up into the much larger image you see before you.
Because both my life and my story are full of surprises.
