Thinking like a Pixar character designer, I had to imagine what exactly this emotion's shape should be based on. The creators of Inside Out stated that Joy is based on a star, Sadness based on a teardrop, Anger based on a fire brick, Fear based on a nerve, and Disgust based on a broccoli floret.
I thought of what could be the shape of laughter, and my best choice was a flower (it comes off as a Tinkerbell movie reference because "fairies are born from a baby's first laugh").
This was especially inspired by the character Leslie from The Amazing World of Gumball.
