'And you say my crush on Discord is weird?'

Rocky: (madly blushing) WHAT? No! No way! Of course not! Squidward Tentacles? Me crushing on Squidward Tentacles? Absolutely and positively NOT!


Abjay: Then why did you, like, let your hair down when he walked by?

Rocky: My shoulders were cold!





Enjoying what's left of my Spring Break, and drawing as much as I want before posting it here, having watching my full of Spongebob on the Nick channel, I just HAD to make this...and show you that Abjay's choice in boys are not, by far, the weirdest you've seen.


For those MLP FIM fans and friends who had read my completed cartune crossover story 'Chaotic Order'(the MLP-only version known as 'Discordant Feelings') could probably recall chapter 2 where you learned that my Mucha Lucha OC Abjay began a MASSIVE fangirl crush on Discord [link] [link]. Yeah, some of you thought it was cute, some thought it was funny...and some thought she has bad taste.

Well, you can tell how much she REALLY loves Discord as proven by her chosen fashion of the week!

Well, if you thought Abjay crushing on that guy was beyond weird...just look at who my KND OC Rocky is smitten with.



Recalling 'Chaotic Order', I'm sure some had recalled one little segment in chapter 7 [link] where you learned Rocky had a crush on Braeburn, Applejack's cousin. Well, those feelings have now faded away into nothingness...

In all due honesty, from a 'Word of God' perspective, Rocky's crush on Squidward, well...it actually refers to ME, and my little girl self screaming from childhood.




See, when I was a little girl and Spongebob Squarepants was new to me, the only character I noticed more than any SB character was Squidward Tentacles.

I fell in love with him.

Sure, he was a grouch and sometimes children wondered what Spongebob sees in him as a friend...but I, even as a somewhat naive little child, could see kindness and a good heart in him. In a way, his passion and artistic strenght is what encouraged my to take on my 'artistic mood' and follow up on such interesting music. In a way, he was my inspiration for IMAGINATION.

During the good years of Nick, as for any cartoon channel, in my childhood, I started imagining one day when I would walk into the 'kingdom' of Nickelodeon and meet the cartoons, and finally hug Squidward like there would be no tomorrow. I've dreamed such when I would fall asleep after reading some Spongebob novels I bought from my elementary school book fair.

And, as an obsessive little girl whose love burned for Squidward like Krabby patties on a grill, I dreamed maybe one day I would marry him.

Even all grown up now and Spongebob starting to reduce to slight offensive and ridiculous material, my love for Squidward never faded away. I still dream the same dreams I had when I was a little girl...though in a way, as I am now 20, the dreams have become more 'modern' and slightly 'enhanced'.

Squidward has always been the heart and soul of Nick...of course, that was MY opinion.

Since the day I watched Spongebob the very first time and fell in love with Squidward, I always kept these special words in mind whenever I saw my favorite character during the special weekend moments of Nick in my childhood:

'He's my reason for living'.

All grown up now, I've learned that EVERY cartoon is a reason for living.

And I thank Squidward for showing me that.

Well, I didn't call myself 'cartuneslover' for nothing! And yes, my classmates in elementary school thought I was NUTS to be in love with a cartoon character, especially one they all HATED. Well, take a good look at TODAY'S shows and say you can't name one person who has a cartoon crush! And after watching so much Spongebob lately, I believe it would be a great moment of this time to show a part of my 'cartune universe' featuring Spongebob and his friends, and especially Squidward.

As an adult now, it should be no surprise how HORRIFIED I am that Squidward is ending up with a lot of 'cartoon abuse' on the show, as for the few given characters that were either developed into meaner streaks or provided with worst case of humor. My poor Squidward suffering...thanks a lot for that, Spongebob, Patrick, Mr. Krabs, Squilliam, and nearly every citizen of Bikini Bottom.

Well, that guy has a special role in my cartune universe. You guys remember Mr. Baldwin from Fish Hooks? That grouch who's pregnant? Yeah, like him, I got something very special planned for dear Squidward. And Rocky, well, consider her the 'pathway to pursuing some point of happiness'. She's just TRYING not to let the fact she has a crush on some guy like Squidward get in the way of her BRAIN.




Here's to Squidward Tentacles...the first-ever cartoon character to have won my little girl heart.
